Movement is babies’ first language. They move to express feelings, learn about their environment by changing position and place and communicate with people around them. Movements are the reflection of well-being and the maturity of our nervous system. Babies fall behind with their physical milestones and emotional, communication and cognitive/learning skills without movement. Many of us never need to think about this; only when something goes wrong, we realise how fragile this otherwise magical, phenomenal self-developing movement program is.
Children need to feel good in their skin in their own body. Babies learn through experience: they must feel ready to explore and take risks to experience their bodies in different positions. They need specific support NOW to interact with the environment and people safely and successfully.
Our body is a network of systems. They are all responsible for different bodily functions. If there is a problem with breathing, doctors investigate the respiratory system; if outward symptoms include swelling, weariness, and out-of-breath experiences, doctors will check on the cardiovascular system and so on.
I learnt from world-renowned teachers around the globe to allow me to use strategies/ methodologies that are still under-appreciated by medicine and sought after and chosen by thousands of parents worldwide. With so many tools in hands, I create a personalised program for integrative movement interventions that suits the family and their baby when we meet and introduce them to different approaches when the ideal time arrives.
I honestly, wholeheartedly believe that there is a solution for everything! I have learnt from extraordinary teachers who dedicated their entire life to improving the lives of children with motor disorders. I am not a medical expert nor a scientist, I am a passionate movement teacher and learning specialist integrating all my knowledge and experience into my practice and I am still learning.
