I understand that start something new can be overwhelming and with this in mind I have outlined what to expect during the integrative movement sessions.
Our first meeting will be a practical assessment so I can fully understand your baby/child and gain a clear picture of their development including all their strength and areas that need to be supported. It is the time to decide together what we going to work towards and how we going to get there.
It is important to assess and reassess regularly, so when the wanted results are not showing I can adjust, alter or change the plan.
Individual sessions last 45 minutes. I work with your child and I try to answer all your question when the session allows me to shift my attention. You will always have time for your questions in the first five minutes of the sessions. I give you opportunities to try things, so your can gain the skills to continue the work at home.
I use and introduce many strategies and ideas to you during the sessions. I will only ask you to take home one or two new skills that you can comfortably use on your own.
The intervention will introduce ways of:
- touching them to feed their brain development and soothe their anxiety
- positioning and moving them in a way so they can fully connect and release feel-good hormones
- Stimulating and challenging their developing system (sensory-motor) to achieve motor milestones and prevent further delays
- grabbing and guiding their attention
- engage together in a play
- develop a trusting connection and loving relationship with them so they can connect to others and build trustful relationships in their lives
- to use learnt strategies at home.
